Before you start a business, you normally first create a Business Plan, that outlines how your business will function, your targets and goals and much more. Starting your website requires very much the same exercise, and we call it your Website Blueprint.
This is typically a Word document that covers the following topics:
CONTENT PAGES
The content of the pages that will be on your website, with or without images, and should at least include the following:
- Homepage (introduction)
- About Us
- Contact Information
- Product/ Service description
FEATURE DISCUSSION
This section should discuss what your website will do for you, eg. Send out newsletters, sell your products, allow forms to be completed and mailed to you etc. To complete this section, it maybe a good idea to go and look at Joomla.org’s Extension directory where you will get ideas of what you can have your website do for you.
LAY-OUT AND DESIGN
This section will discuss the lay-out of the website, and maybe include a drawing of the lay-out of your website, and also specify primary colors that will be used on the website.
Once you have all the above jotted down, we will be able to provide you with a detailed quotation for the development of the website, should you want us to develop it for you, or alternatively, your journey on the DIY route will start once you have mailed us the document.
